Getting Started
-
My office for in-person sessions is at 55 Linden Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801. I also offer therapy online.
There is a residential house at 55 Linden Avenue, on the corner of Linden and Robindale. The office is a separate building behind the house. Find the house first with your GPS and then park alongside on Robindale toward the back of the house, next to the wood fence. You'll see a small sign on the back gate that says “Welcome - 55 Linden Avenue Offices” on it where you'll enter, and walk straight ahead, you'll see double glass doors to the left — the office is inside those doors. There isn’t a waiting area at the moment, so please come in at our scheduled appointment time.
-
I’ll send you a link to a secure video platform—just click it at our scheduled time to join the session.
-
Typically, we start by taking about what brought you in and what you’d like help with.
In the first or second session, I often ask some general questions about your life and relationships now, in the past, and what you’re hoping for the future.
On Working Together
-
Often, therapy involves meeting weekly. Weekly sessions give you a steady rhythm of staying close to the thoughts, emotions, and experiences you’re working through, and enough time out-of-session to integrate changes that are unfolding for you. There also may be times when meeting more or less makes sense.
-
That’s up to you—some people come for a few months to work through a specific concern, while others stay longer to explore deeper patterns and ongoing growth.
-
I do not provide 24/7 on-call service. I strive to be responsive and prompt to all emails, calls and texts with those I work with.
Paying for Therapy
-
Contact me for rates. I have reduced fee spots in my schedule to serve people with diverse socio-economic circumstances.
-
I accept cash, check, all major credit cards, and payments through Zelle and health savings accounts.
-
I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna.
For all other insurances, you may have out-of-network benefits, which means that insurance will reimburse you for a portion of our session cost. I have partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network reimbursement process automatically for you. With Thrizer, you will only have to pay a copay for our sessions post-deductible, instead of paying my full fee and waiting for reimbursements. This typically allows clients to save an average of 70% upfront on our sessions. During our intake process, I can help you verify if you have out-of-network benefits and how much your co-insurance would be.
Please reach out with any questions, I'm happy to work with you to keep therapy affordable.
